A month ago, we wrote that negotiations between the members of the SAG-AFTRA trade union and game companies ended with the conclusion of a new agreement. The document recorded a number of points that improve the working conditions of the actors of the voice acting. Even then, the strike was considered the end to the end, but from the real end it was separated by the last step-ratification of the contract by members of Sag-AFTRA.
Today it became known that the union examined the new interactive media agreement (Interactive Media Agreement) and approved it. 95.04 % of the organization’s members voted, but there was no data on what share of the members of the SAG-AFTRA in the process.
Recall that the previous agreement expired back in July 2022. While the guild of screenwriters and actors managed to agree in 2023, representatives of the gaming industry continued to negotiate. As a result, a new agreement guarantees an increase in actors to the fees and improves safety and health protection measures, and also contains special provisions on AI to protect artists from abuse by game producers.
Now that the agreement is ratified, the actors of voice acting video games will be able to use significant advantages and important measures of protection from AI. We will continue to develop these guarantees as the use of this technology will gradually be fixed and improved.

You understand that the essence was not just to “defend their rights”, but they demanded that Hoyo sign the agreement so that they would hire only actors from the trade union in their games, that is, all who were already voicing and should not have chopped it at the trade union? Hoyo had points in the contracts about the protection against AI.
In general, Hoyo was not among the list of those at whom the strike was aimed at, all those who did not participate did it “voluntarily and to support colleagues” (and those who did not want to do this, poisoned and threatened to drive out of the trade union and they will not have work). They have long been provided with excellent conditions, to which almost all actors agreed, but the leaders of the trade union decided to pull even more in jeopardy of the work of these very actors. And until a whole bunch of details and dirt surfaced, this strike did not move at all.
And let’s not forget that some of the actors poured mud on the actor who did not live in the USA at all and had no idea about any strikes when he was castlet to the role of a character.
The goals were good, but only the leaders and some actors were arrogant at a certain moment and as a result, actors and players suffered.
Maybe you can at least delve into the essence of the relationship between the trade union and Hoyo before scribbled another post about how you hate them?
There were really a lot of comments oozing through the negative, and this is sad.
But, in fairness, it is worth noting that some voice actors behaved no better: in every possible way they offended the company and colleagues in the workshop, nominated unreasonable requirements, etc.D. This created even more negativity around the whole situation and substituted not only these personalities, but also their colleagues, who did not guess in anything.
And how many scraped-dependent scolded actors and defended Mikhoy-horror.
“How actors dare to demand something, hands away from my multi-billion dollar soulless corporation! Ungrateful pigs, say thank you for taking you to work."
